Military consultant shot dead in Sana’a
Brigadier Khalid Al-Hashimi was traveling by car—wearing military uniform—when a motorcyclist opened fire on Al-Hashimi, according to Major Ahmed Al-Hamami, head of Al-Thawra Police Station. He had no security personnel with him at the time.
Al-Hashimi was shot in the side of the head, and the bullet exited from the other side, Al-Hamami said. He was taken to a hospital within 10 minutes of the attack, but he died before reaching the hospital.
Many witnesses were at the scene of the attack, which occurred in a crowded area. However, passersby and the traffic controller were unable to assist Al-Hashimi.
The shooter fled the scene, and investigations remain ongoing.
