Aden complex targeted by ‘thieves and highwaymen’
“The perpetrators are a group of thieves and highwaymen who are blacklisted,” Abdul Nasser Al-Sakkaf, head of Al-Ma'ala’s police station, said. “The assault was executed by three persons who boarded a Hilux model car.”
Anwar Al-Sulaihi, Aden governorate’s Operations Authority manager, said, “A grenade was thrown after midnight last Thursday … There was a resounding blast inside.”
Al-Sulaihi said the perpetrators have not been identified.
“There was no former threat by a particular person because attacks happen at nighttime,” he said. “The purpose was only terror and sabotage. The forensic department attended the location once notified, and investigations are now in progress to identify the perpetrators.”
He said similar incidents occurred two weeks ago and three months ago, with no injuries or damages reported.
“Once notified by the Operations Authority in Aden governorate, we hurried to the incident to investigate and take pictures,” Al-Sakkaf said.
