ADEN, April 5 – Haidar Abu Bakr Al-Attas, former prime minister of first national unity government in 1990 and his deputy then, Saleh Obaid Ahmed are expected to arrive Aden from Saudi Arabia in the coming few days, leaders of the Southern Movement in Aden told the Yemen Times.

The visit by Al-Attas and Obaid aim to push the Southern Movement to engage in the national dialogue conference scheduled to take place at the end of this month, Abdalraqeeb Al-Eryani, a political analyst in Aden said.

This coincides with the arrival of a Southern Movement leader, Mohamed Ali Ahmed to Aden coming from London late last month. Ahmed was said to be visiting Aden with same purpose and demanded a federal system for Yemen.

“Al-Hirak [Southern Movement] is in dead the transition if it does not participate effectively in the present situation,” said Ahmed.
