For the Yemen Times Dr. Naif Al-Mutawa was the first speaker to receive a standing ovation at the TED Global conference held in Oxford in mid-July this year. He was applauded for creating THE 99, first group of Muslim superheroes intended to reflect the values of tolerance and peace in Islam, particularly among children. Among the superheroes is a Yemeni women named Batina with the power of invisibility. THE 99 has been mentioned in media around the world and Dr. Al-Mutawa was recently singled out and praised by American President Obama for contributing to the promotion of dialogue between Muslim communities and the United States.
